Greetings from Honorooroo!!!

Our second day here has been pawsome!!! After a quick call to our pawrents this morning, Shingo and I headed out to check out the beaches. I decided to be adventurous and take some surfing lessons. Check out this picture that Shingo made of me!

The beaches are absolutely beeyootiful here!!! Shingo and I don't mind the ocean water!! as much as we do bath waters.

Anyway, I'm planning to take Sallie to a big Luau Saturday night. I really want to impress her, so I convinced Shingo to take some Hula lessons with me.

We did get a little carried away there!! It was so hot with all that hula-ing on the beach, that both of our tongues were hangin out!!! Time to go back to our hotel and get cooled off. Sallie flies in tomorrow!! I can hardly wait!!! Moms told me to be on my best behavior and to be polite!! More tomorrow...

Tropical Paradise

Photobucket

Harooo there efurone!! It's time to let the dog (hehehehe!) out of the bag. I've decided to take Sallie on a romantic, tropical vacation to Hawaii. It took a lot of begging, but Moms and Dad said I could go, if someone flew over with me. I finally convinced Shingo to fly over with me and keep me compnay, until Sallie gets here (I secretly thinks he wants to meet a cute, little Hawaiian pup himself. Shingo and I got to our hotel in Hawaii this morning. We are scoping out the islands for activities and sight seeing, before Sallie arrives. I want to have many fun and romantic things planned for us to do on our date. Here are some pictures that we've made of sights and activities so far:

Here's the Hawaiian greeting that we got as we got off the plane.

Our Family and Planning

Haroo efurone!! Things are really busy around my house lately. Dad is working a new job, so Moms is getting used to his new schedule. Also, I've been furry busy planning my date with Sallie. I'm not going to give away many of the details, but I can tell you it's going to be exotic!!

Efurone has asked about our large family. I'm going to use a post that we did way back, when we first started our bloggie. We only had a handful of readers at the time, so we thought we would repost it. So, meet our family!!

As you guys know, we have a LARGE family. Moms and Dad are believers in animal adoption and choose to give LOTS of animals a forever home. So, I thought I'd introduce you to my doggie brothers and sisters. I'll concentrate on the kitties tomorrow. So here goes:

This is my sister Shiloh. Shiloh is 10 years old. She's been with Moms and Dad for 7 years. They adopted her from our local shelter. Shiloh is a Jack Russell/Dachshund mix.

Photobucket

Next is my sister Fergie. Fergie is 7 years old. She's been with Moms and Dad for 4 years. She was adopted from the same shelter. She is a Red Heeler/Shepherd mix.

Photobucket

This is my sister, Trixie. For years, Moms and Dad referred to her as the "spare dog". She was a neighbor's dog, that for some reason, decided one day that she wanted to stay at our house. Her pawrents didn't care and let her stay with us. About a year ago, they moved off, and Trixie was left behind. So, she's a full fledged member of the family now. Trixie is probably around 11 years old. She's a Pomeranian mix.

Photobucket

We also have a new sister, Daisy. Moms and Dad refer to Daisy as the "Grumpy Old Lady Dog". Daisy is nearly 13, and she likes to grumble about things. She originally came as a foster, but Moms and Dad decided to let her live the rest of her life with us. Daisy is a Rat Terrier.

Photobucket

Of course, you guys know Jack. Jack came with Daisy to live at our house. He was originally just supposed to be a foster too, but he and Dad REALLY like each other, so he got to stay and live with us. Jack is 9 years old, and he is a Rat Terrier too.

Photobucket

Here's a group picture of us. This was made, before Jack and Daisy came to live with us.

Trixie was outside running around.

So that's all of our doggie brothers and sisters. Tomorrow we'll start on our kitty brothers and sisters. WHEW!! Moms and Dad sure are busy!

Flat Brutus at MTSU

Flat Brutus wanted to visit Moms at her work. He was furry excited that there is 500 acres to romp around. He thought he would get some much needed excercise. Spending time in that envelope in the mails gets you all cramped up. So, he headed out.

Boring Report

Not much is going on in the household. Moms is still feeling a bit under the weather, so we haven't gotten to visit many bloggies lately. Hopefully soon, we'll be back in the swing of things.

We've been hanging out with Flat Brutus for the last few days. He's busy packing up and getting ready to head to the next host family. We sure are going to miss that little guy!

Moms wants to let efurone know that we haven't forgotten about our GABE winners: Toby, Sprinkles, and Sugar. The donations have all been made to the local humane association. Your acknowledgements by them should be in your mail boxes soon! Also, Moms will be mailing efurone's fancy collars soon. She hasn't felt well, since she got back vacation, and she sure is being S-L-O-W!!! Hang in there with us!

I've been busy planning a wonderful date with Sallie! She will set the date, and then we will be off!! I hope what I have planned is special enough!

My pretty girl, Sallie!

Post from Moms: Flood Recovery

We're letting Moms interrupt here for a really important post:

As most of you may have heard the weekend that Casey and I got back from the cruise, Tennessee recorded one of it's biggest floods in history. This wasn't just a little water folks, it was a LOT! 15-22 inches fell in a 24 hour period! For 72 hours straight, our local stations covered the situation. It caught so many by surprise and the water rose so fast, that 22 have been confirmed dead and several are missing. Sadly, several of my and Casey good friends lost everything. It was a widespread flood. Downtown Nashville was flooded up to 2nd Avenue. The Grand Ol' Opry house flooded, along with the Opryland Hotel and Opry Mills mall. The Hard Rock Cafe and The Wildhorse Saloon flooded too. That list is just the beginning of a HUGE list of flooded business and personal homes. Buildings were floating down the interstate, and all 3 major interstates in Nashville were closed, because they were under water. We got very little national news coverage. Check out this video that really tells the whole story.

Nashville is just about 50 miles north of us. There was flooding as far south as Rutherford County, which is only about 30 miles north of us. We were very lucky in Shelbyville. We didn't have nearly as much rain down south. Casey and I weren't sure what roads would be passable by the time we got back to Tennessee, so we cut our trip short and started driving right after we got off the boat. We were lucky. We had perfect weather most of the way home. We only drove in about 40 minutes of rain total. By the time we got home, the rain had stopped. It was only then that we learned how bad things were up in Nashville and out in west Tennessee. It broke my heart to watch the animal rescues. So many agencies pitched in to help rescue the ones left behind. Check out the ASPCA blog to read about the rescue effort and to see a great slide show. Folks, we still need a lot of help. Please give to your organization of choice, if you can. WE ARE NASHVILLE!!

I Gotta Date!!

It's springtime. Love must be in the air! I've met one of the nicest Rat Terrier girls. Her name is Sallie AKA Romance Puppy. Her Moms is a romance writer, so Sallie loves romance. I finally got up the courage and asked her out on a date, and she said yes!! It will be my first date ever!! Now, I have to go and plan the best date ever!! Here's some pictures of Sallie.
