Now for the hodge podge update:
Moms and Dad took a quick, weekend trip to Destin a week or so ago. Me, Shingo, and Molly had to go to the vacation kennels to stay with our Aunt Mary Jo. We had a great time! We had a whole agility course to play on. Grandma took care of Daisy, Jack, Fergie, and Shiloh. There was a bad incident, while we were gone. One morning, Grandma let Shiloh out to potty. She was right on the side of the street and the yard. A car came flying up the street and hit her on the side of the road!! They didn't even stop!! So, we had to let our sweet, sweet Shiloh cross the Rainbow Bridge. We loved and miss her furry much!! That's part of the reason for our absence these past weeks. Our typist is still furry upset, as we are too!
RIP Sweet Shiloh!

ReplyDeleteThis won't help fur THIS year.. butt if you can get APPLE MINT plants next spring... Plant them along your yard... they repel FLEAS and TICKS. You would still need some sort of products on you ... butt the Mint really HELPS. It is totally SAFE ... and the PLUSes are... you can put the leaves in TEA.. ummmmm and... it really Spreads and can be Divided the next spring for even MORE coverage. AND... you can even rub it on your backs and tummies and stuffs and get a Grrrrreat Scent and repel the fleas even BETTER!!! Win Win situation with APPLE MINT.
So very sorry to hear about Shiloh - hugs to all of you. We have never had a flea problem here, but we switched this year from Frontline to Vectra. Our vet had some concerns about the effectiveness of Frontline for the tick and flea issues. So far, all is fine here. Hope you can find a way to get rid of them. They are such a nuisance.

Wow, I haven't had a flea problem. I did have two nasty ticks early in the Spring, but they're all over now too. Sorry about the itchies.

Fleas are horrible!!! Use comfortis...we swear by it...one pill per dog and you will never see another horrible flea again! We have had two bouts with fleas and one pill each time adn poof they is gone. Frontline never worked for fleas...not sure why.
ReplyDeleteGood luck and no more bites!!!!
We are so sorry for your loss...We just don't understand cars that hit and run like that. We hope that Karma gets them.
ReplyDeleteGood grief! So sorry to hear about Shiloh. Hugs to your family.
ReplyDeleteI had a bad time with the bloodsuckers earlier this year. Was on Advantage, didn't work at all. Vet prescribed a combination of Comfortis and Sentinal. Works great! Particularly after we got the yard infestation under control by a professional pest service. I'm allergic to flea saliva too (and some plants). Anyway, I've found an herbal remedy that works really well called Skin-Eze. You read about it at allergicpet(dot)com
Hope things get better for you all real soon!
Waggin at ya,
